outfit of the day(bird): not an accident

tunic~ b. (a resale shop)
leggings~ Heartbreaker
boots~ vintage, thrifted
hat~ old

the other day, mimi and i were talking about the difference between an accident and doing something on purpose. this came about because, as she was taking off her coat, mimi punched me in the face. i reacted, as you would when being punched by a tiny fist, with a bit of a yelp, a flinch, grabbing my face, and saying, "ow, mimi!" she immediately felt horrible, but i assured her that it was just an accident, not on purpose, and i would be just fine. she then asked, "mama, what does 'on purpose' mean?" and i replied, "it means that you meant to do it. whatever you did, you wanted it to happen." she nodded and walked away. a bit later, as i was boiling up some mac-n-cheese for lunch, mimi walked into the kitchen and said, "i love you mama." i smiled and told her i loved her, too. she then said, "that wasn't an accident mama. i told you that on purpose. i meant to do it. i love you." and she scampered off with a silly grin. and then my heart melted. so sweet.

  4. ohhh how sweet ! I heard that a lot from my son as well. The "accident" and on "purpose". I think he gets that from school when the teacher ask them of their behaviors. Anyway, your tunic is i love spot on. my kind of outfit, so easy to get out the door kinda and still looks so fabulous.

  22. Those are the days I look forward to have with my daughter when she is old enough to understand. Calling me Mama or by my name these days, truly fills my heart though.

I love it every time you wear this Fun Tunic. I adore the double prints. And those are the perfect shade of Cognac Boots. =)
