remember this post? the one where you all helped me dress for my class reunion? well here i am...and here's what i chose. i wanted shiny and sparkly, but more importantly, i wanted shoes with a thick enough heel so i wouldn't trip down the stairs at my reunion. no one wants to make that kind of impression.
instead, i made another kind. (more on that later.)
i ended up having a really great time at the reunion. as it turns out, the (holy?) water they serve in catholic school must be something special because every single person looked so great. i knew who everyone was just by looking at faces and not name tags...and some people looked even better than they did 20 years ago! it was pretty amazing.
i got to catch up with old friends, laugh with my girls whom i have known for 30+ years, and make fun of my ex – the first person to officially break my heart. and by make fun of, i mean publicly chastise him in front of a table full of people, including his wife. i honestly don't harbor any bad feeling towards him – after all, it's been 20 years and we are both wildly happy with other people. but it was still fun to make fun of him and to tell him what a jerk he used to be. and to his credit, he agreed.
the horribly embarrassing point of the night was when i decided to get sick. ok, i didn't decide, it just happened. i started to feel a bit dizzy and nauseous and ended up running to the bathroom and throwing up about five times. awesome, right? i'm sure people assumed it was from the alcohol, but i can assure you, it wasn't. unless alcohol can affect you for six days...because i still feel sick! but of course, no one knew that...because like the trooper that i am, i stayed at the party until 2am, and even nursed another few beers...and maybe even hijacked my friend's camera and took naughty pictures with it. oops. i guess when you hang out with your friends from 20 years ago, it's ok to act like you are 18 again!
so thanks for helping me pick my outfit. i felt pretty great in it, and for the record, i didn't fall down once!
