there is this person in my building at work that i honestly have not been able to figure out if (s)he's a man of woman. it has puzzled me every time we run into each other in the elevator. honestly, i am not trying to insult this person, it is just very hard to tell. (s)he has smooth hands and a full and baby-smooth face. (s)he is always wearing a chambray shirt and jeans, with a brown braided belt, and gender-neutral comfortable walking shoes. and the chambray shirt is large enough to hide any curves or lumps. (s)he has short brown hair, wears no jewelery, and has a not-too-high, but not-too-low voice. i was stumped. until the other day.
i almost jumped for joy as i was walking to my bus stop and saw him. yes, him. he now has a full-grown goatee, proving once and for all that he's a man. or not.
happy friday!!

You won't know until you pull on the goatee, which shouldn't be awkward at all.
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit, love this dress and that belt is perfect with it!
Enjoy your weekend :)
Such a pretty chambray dress! Love the accent belt.

ROFL, that is funny. Last winter I kept passing this person on the street on my way back from lunch that was walking to their job. I swore up and down it was a man though I couldn't totally tell because "he" was all bundled up. Flash forward to the warm days this spring and I passed this person again without all the bundled up stuff - it was definitely a woman. Eek.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your dress, so springy and fun.
cute!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dress!
ReplyDeletewhat a funny story. moments like that can be so very awkward. ;)
i am so dying for one of these dresses! & i love that you paired it with light tan!
ReplyDeletehappy friday, megan!
What a pretty dress! Love it :) Haha, I hate when that happens, I always feel bad!
ReplyDeletei favor the flower detailing on your dress, with the bel, shoes & perfect polish. :) i once met a girl who i couldn't tell whether she was a guy or not, & her name really was pat. truth.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that is so hilarious! Thank goodness for facial hair. Have a great weekend!

OMG! I thrifted that EXACT belt a few years ago! I still have it but rarely remember to wear it! And those sandals are super cute and have a very vintage vibe!

ReplyDeleteI've had that happen to me with people before. It's always so awkward!
Haha, finally an answer! Love the dress! Thanks for the nice comment! I'm following on GFC and bloglovin. I'd love it if you'd follow back!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I wish this didnt make me laugh as hard as it did lol. You look really great! The dress is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Awesome. There's a person in my neighborhood I observed for a long time to try to figure out their gender. Medium height, slim build, short androgynous hair, always in sweatpants and large jacket... but it's a girl. I heard her voice as she tried to get her dogs to not attack mine. Yay for knowing!

Oh, this is a perfect summer look. I am intrigued by folks like this...I met a woman when I was in graduate school who had a bit of a mustache and other facial hair, due she said to high levels of testosterone.
ReplyDeletesuch a very sweet dress! loving it :)

Firstly, lovely dress, very pretty! Secondly, I've been in this situatuon so many times! It also happens with children at school! There are some really really pretty boys (especially one who had waist length hair!) and then some really tomboyish girls who when I say, (when first teaching the class and meeting the children) "What's the boy next to you called?" and they'll call out, "He's a boy!"
ReplyDeleteCute dress - I knew I should have picked it up last summer!
ReplyDeleteAlso - at my last job there was a Pat. Literally - we found out later HER name was Patsy but she went by Pat. Awkward short haircut, glasses, shapeless tees and shorts with mens tennis shoes. She would show up to work two hours before her shift started to get a good parking space - she'd sit in her car and talk on the phone, presumably to her partner Terry or Kelly or Shannon. :)
I love the whole outfit! That dress with those flowers and that belt with the colorful beads, so unexpected but goes great together.
ReplyDeleteVang :)
