on saturday, megan and i had an in-store styling event at b. (a resale shop). it was so much fun and turned out even better than we had hoped! what we did was style outfits for customers using all the merchandise throughout the store. since we were selling our wares there for the month of january (and have decided to keep our stuff there for the month of february, as well), we had a nice mix of our fun, vintage items and the cool, contemporary clothes and accessories that are always for sale at b. we had a few clients lined up that had asked for our help ahead of time, so we got there early and had a blast scouring the racks for amazing pieces and putting together outfits for them before they showed up. this is what megan and i absolutely love to do! we love making people look amazing no matter what their budget. it is so fun for us to create unique, creative and fun looks for others who may never put those particular pieces together themselves. once we had all of those outfits picked out, we decided to just start helping whoever walked through the door. most everyone we asked went ahead and let us style them up, and many of them left with piles of clothes that we had chosen just for them. it was truly so much fun and really exhilarating! we left the store giddy and excited to do it again. and hopefully we will be doing it again very soon! but more on that to come...
we, of course, had to style ourselves up for the event, as well! this is what we wore...

MEGAN!! I was eyeing that top at the swap, but put it down because I thought I would look too much like Dorothy Zbornak in it. OF COURSE you managed to make it look amazing. Of course. And I'm so glad my booties have found a new life outside of the shelf in my closet.

You ladies both look great! Styling is super fun!
ReplyDeleteLove both of the outfits. I know what you mean, I work at the Gap part time and I love when I get someone to buy something that looks great on them. I always try to get the older women to buy straight fit jeans... they are like I am to old to wear them and I am like 1. No you are not and 2. you look awesome. I can tell they are excited but are hesitant because of their age.. buts some go for it and it makes me happy!
